Grateful (Artfull Crafts)

Hello hello!  Its Anzac Day today here in New Zealand, and we went into Queenstown to walk in the Parade.  Sam and was representing our school and one of the soldiers, and got to carry a cross in the service (Shaun being the teacher was supervising the kids).  The girls and I only marched in the parade because there was no way Brielle could sit still for an hour.

Today I'm up on the Artfull Crafts blog with another layout made with Kaisercraft's new Chasing Rainbows Collection.  This layout is from last September when it was our 11 year wedding anniversary.  Shaun planned a day where he took us to all the places we went on our wedding day, such as the church, reception venue, and Arrowtown where we got our photos taken.  We also had to vote that day!

I made small word stickers from the main sticker sheet, I just cut apart the phrases I knew I wouldn't use.

I made those tags by tracing around existing office supply tags, then punching a hole with my Cropodile.  I even set an eyelet because the paper wasn't strong enough for the string.

Thanks for looking. Lest we forget.

Best Ever - A Simple Grid Layout

Good morning, if you follow me on YouTube you'll know that I posted a video with a simple grid design this week.  It worked perfectly with the leftovers of my February Hip Kit, and I used up the cut apart sheet (Heidi Swapp) and some of the My Minds Eye mixed bag die cuts.

Its another page with photos from our Millbrook park visit, and I love it because it includes photos of my three.  I wanted to keep my paper layers to a minimum, and I love the look of machine stitching on the photos.

The background is the Dear Lizzy stencil used like a stamp.

I used up lots of embellishments  9well for me anyway!).

Love those flower and diamond diecuts!  I used Heidi Swapp gold colour shine for my title words.

Here is my video

Our Song Bird (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello, we today is our third week reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy, and Team A is up!  This week we had an awesome sketch by Laura Whitaker.

I scrapped three photos of Azaria getting an award at school prize giving last year.  This sketch was perfect for the smaller photo size.  I used my March Hip Kit, which is full of gorgeous products.

These photos were challenging to scrap due to the colours in the photo, but the papers I choose worked well.

Here is the sketch:

Thanks for looking :)

Just Be You

Hello again!  Sometimes I have photos of a story that I just have to tell, and this page contains photos of Sam getting a sportsmanship award at school athletics last year.  They are not the most amazing artistic photos, but they are factual and enable me to document this moment for Sam.

I used my February Hip Kit, and specifically wasn't going to use the background paper as I'm not a huge fan of green. However, Sam told me he liked it, so I decided to try it and see.  I kept this layout very simple, and I was really down to the scraps of my kit when I made it.

This little frame was perfect for this photo of Sam.  I added the prize ribbon with two staples.

I'd been saving the Field Notes puffy sticker for the perfect outdoors layout, and this was it!

I made a process video for this one, and you can watch it on my YouTube Channel here or below:

Have an awesome rest of your week!

Having A Blast!

Hello hello!  This week was a major milestone for us with our baby turning 1!  I felt happy and sad all at the same time.  Sam and Azaria expected that Brielle would change overnight and suddenly start walking and talking!  She had fun opening her presents though, with lots of help from her big sister.

Here are some photos of the big day, starting with our three:

Opening presents, more interested in the paper of course!

Our gorgeous girl!

I made a layout about a week ago featuring Brielle in the jolly jumper when she was a few months younger.  I made it with my February Hip Kit, and use the Dear Lizzy stencil with gold ink to make the flowers.  The only product not from my kit is the background border which is Crate Paper (Maggie Holmes).

I fussy cut the title out of one of the papers.

The background misting was created with mist and the packaging technique.

A close up of our delightful girl!

I also made a process video and you can watch it on YouTube here, or below:

Thanks for reading this far and looking!

Jump! (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello!  Today I have a layout to share that I created for our first week reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy!  The awesome sketch is by our leader Brenshevia, and I made this one with my February Hip Kit (its actually the first layout I've made with this kit).

I've decided this month to make a real effort to scrapbook more boy layouts, particularly about Sam, because last month pretty much every layout was about my girls!  This photo is of Sam at Millbrook Resort playground jumping on the trampoline at the park which is dug into the ground.  This means its easy for smaller kids to get on and off.  I thought this photo of Sam jumping was perfect for the woodgrain design of the background paper, as it appears he is jumping over the growth rings of the log!

I added lots of stitching details, and I LOVE the My Minds Eye rubons that are in the kit.  I really struggled with this layout when I started, I think because the sketch is very minimal, but then I found my flow once I started to place embellishments.

I was inspired by Ashley Horton (check out her blog here), an amazingly talented and lovely scrapbooker (who also used to design for LGS) for the placement of the triangles on my layout.  Ashley had made a layout with this background paper for the Hip Kit Design Team, and placed the My Minds Eye pieces along the line of the circles of the rings.  I'm still struggling with machine stitching in a circle!

The black elements, such as this die cut paperclip, and my back India ink really pop on the woodgrain!

And here is the sketch:

I'd love to see you play along!
Have an awesome week :)

Two Layouts (Artfull Crafts)

Hello!  Hope you are having a blessed Easter and are enjoying the lovely Autumn weather!  Today I'm up on the Artfullcrafts Blog with two more layouts.

I realised about a week ago that I had forgotten to share another layout I made from the Kaisercraft All That Glitters Collection.  It's featuring my Azaria, and the background paper is the type of paper that does all the work with minimal embellishment.

The following layout is made with Kaisercraft's new Chase Rainbows Collection which you can purchase in the shop here.  I loved the colours in it, and it worked really well with the colour of my dress when we were guests at a wedding last November.  I decided to do a grid design, and featured three of my favourite papers.

The quotes in this collection are so lovely!

The beautiful paper that I used for my title card worked perfectly with the Amy Tangerine thickers!
