Clique Kits November Blog Share

Hello!  I'm so excited to be joining in on the blog share this month, and you would have arrived from the very talented LeeAnn's blog! I love the Tapestry Kit so much, it featured We R Memory Keepers Wildflowers collection, and I also got some of the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane add-ons.  I'm still creating with this kit, but today I wanted to share two layouts.

The first layout is one that I made in an effort to just go with the flow, but also scrap quickly.  I knew I wanted to scrap this photo of Azaria and I, and I also knew I wanted to use the "love" card and the "notes" cut apart.  So my layout just flowed from there!  I also did something shocking, and used the butterfly paper as my frame!!!  I gutted out the middle first!

My title was built very easily with the Dear Lizzy puffy thickers incorporating the card.  I used a knife to cut out part of the black circle, then tucked my photo under.

I loved adding machine stitching, a doily from my stash, feathers that I cut out and sprayed with Colour Shine, and of course stickers.

My second layout features Sam during his first week of school ever (in 2012).  I recently printed this photo of him in the Autumn leaves, and decided to make a layout using the Cedar Lane products.  I used two leave dies and my Cuttlebug, and I love that they are embossed too. The gold elements don't seem to photograph very well, but the "Love You" is gold print on acetate.

I cut the leaves from the Cedar Lane 6x6 paper pad, and I made sure I choose a majority of simple patterns.  Sam loves that I tucked the fox in there too!

The gold elements don't seem to photograph very well, but the "Love You" is gold print on acetate.

I videoed these layouts too, so will have process videos up on my YouTube channel very soon :)

Carol of the Bells (Artfull Crafts)

Hello!  I'm so excited to be joining in on the Christmas Countdown over at Artfull Crafts, its such a fun way to get in the Christmas spirit and get ready for the school holidays!

Today I'm sharing a layout I made with Shimelle's new Christmas line appropriately named "Christmas Magic".  I decided to scrap a photo from Christmas 2013 of a group of four of us singing Carol of the Bells.  We sung it at our church Christmas Show, combined churches Carols on the Green and Christmas Day Service.  I was 5 months pregnant with Brielle at the time.

I fussy cut a line of the presents and popped them up on foam adhesive for extra dimension.

I also fussy cut out a row of the lights, and placed them at the top of my layout.  The gold doily is from Studio Calico, and is from my stash.

August Hip Kit Layout Share

Hello, hope you had an awesome weekend!  I'm just popping in quickly to tell you that I posted a layout share video for my August Hip Kit.  I purchased the Main Kit, Patterned Paper add on and Embellishment Kit.  This kit was full of Pink Fresh Studio "Happy Things" and Crate Paper "Wonder", and I loved it!  I made a total of 14 layouts, and I had some bits and pieces left over, but I needed to move on.

Here are two unshared layouts that I made.  The first one is all based around that cute house paper by Crate Paper.  Azaria had claimed it as hers, and wanted me to make a layout about her!  I scrapped a photo that we had to take for homework, of her and her favourite toys.  I fussy cut out the houses on a diagonal, and popped the edges up with foam adhesive.  I  love how it turned out!

My second layout features Brielle and her dishwasher adventures!  She loved to get up on the door and "help".  I used lots of the Pink Fresh Studio fussy cut triangles and acetate triangles on this one.  I also tucked some more of the little houses in this one, they are just darling!

My final layout is the final layout I made with an older photo of Shaun and Sam one Father's day.  I used lots of cut aparts and die cuts that were suitably masculine.  I made the title on my Cameo, and its the first title I've made myself welding the words together!

Here is my layout share video.

Shopping for Baby (Stuck?! Sketches)

Hello, I'm back again so soon, and today its to share a layout I made for the latest sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches.  I haven't been able to play along for several weeks now due to work and prioritising Design Team commitments, so I was so happy to find some spare time.  I used my September Hip Kit again, and scrapped another photo for my pregnancy album of Sam and Azaria shopping for the baby.

I love all the navy elements in this kit, and the letter stickers from October Afternoon were lovely!  That ampersand paper from Dear Lizzy is so pretty, I almost didn't want to use it!

A close up of my doily and banners, and a die cut arrow by Amy Tangerine.

And here is Laura's lovely sketch.

Pregnant Selfie (Clique Kits)

Hello again!  I'm back again because I was up on the Clique Kits blog on Monday with a layout for "Art Studio".  I decided to get creative and play with the exclusive cut files and my water colours.  I had such a blast making this layout, and the combination of We R Memory Keepers "Wildflowers" and Pink Paislee "Cedar Lane" meant that the layout came together so easily!

I scrapped a photo for my pregnancy album (which seriously needs to be completed), and its a selfie Instagram shot!

That tag was perfect for my journalling, and the bow and exclusive printable were so complimentary (of course because everything coordinates)!

I just adore these Dear Lizzy gold puffy thickers!  The blue water colouring was done with the packaging technique.

A close up of my layering, that die cut is from Cedar Lane.

I water coloured the feathers in a gradient, then sprinkled them with colour shine!

Cute Biker (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello!  I'm emerging from my pile of work to share a layout that was up on the Lets Get Sketchy blog for the latest sketch reveal.  This week we had an awesome sketch by Jesse to work with, and I decided to scrap two photos of Brielle on her bike.  I used my September Hip Kit, which is full of Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers.

I kept this one very minimalistic for me, and pulled my colours from her top and her bike.

The "today" card was perfect for my journalling, and the pear is a bit random, but the colour was perfect!

The "Cute" chipboard is from Crate Paper's Wonder collection, and I love how it looks.

I used the packaging technique with my water colours, and also splattered.  The flowers are fussy cut out of one of my favourite papers.

And here is the sketch.

I made a process video too.

October Clique Kit Layout Share and Kill a Kit

Good afternoon!  Last week I posted a video showing how I killed my October Clique Kit, and sharing my layouts.  I made a total of 10 layouts, of which two I haven't shared anywhere before.

Here is another look at the Funfetti kit, featuring Pink Fresh Studio's Happy Things collection.

It was such a gorgeous kit for my first month as a Design Team member!  I had actually lost my creative flow just before my kit arrived, but this kit and my Making Lemonade YouTube series definitely helped get it back!

Here is the final layout that I made, I just had to use that exclusive card for this photo of Sam being a clown at Moeraki!  When Sam saw this layout he laughed so hard, he just loved that card!!!

And here is my layout share video:

My Sunshine (The Crafty Maven Getaway)

Hello again!  I was up on The Crafty Maven Getaway on Thursday for Sketch it Up Thursday with the lovely and talented Danielle Brown.  We decided to use a sketch that someone shared on a Facebook Group, and unfortunately we didn't know the source.

I was inspired by the orange and blue in this months mood board, and used a really old Paper Bakery kit that featured Studio Calico Atlantic and Lilly Bee.  The photos are of Brielle being super cute in Sam's old Cars Movie towel after her bath.

Instead of a 4th photo I embellished a glassine bag to hold my journalling.

I loved doing hidden journalling on this one, I used a card that had prompts on it, which made it super easy to get the story told!  I'm not the state of my handwriting on this one, all due to my pen running out...

I created my title with a cut file from the Silhouette store.  I cut it on white cardstock and water coloured it to match my layout.

Here is the amazing sketch:

And here is the beautiful mood board:

And lastly, of course here is my video:

A Teeny Tiny Mini (Clique Kits)

Hello!  I was up on the Clique Kits blog on Thursday with another project made with the November Kit Tapestry.  I had found this tiny little gold mini album at a local church fair on a second hand stall a couple of years ago.  I'd been keeping it for the right photos and supplies, and when I saw this kit I knew it would be perfect for these photos of Moeraki that I took in July.

Here some photos that show you just how chunky it is!

And here is my cover.  The epoxy flair is homemade with an exclusive printable.

I'll share a couple of inside spreads with you, but you need to head on over to the blog for my tutorial on how it all came together.  This spread is my title page.

And here is an inside spread.

I made a video showing the entire finished album.

Cherish (Clique Kits)

Hello! Today I'm sharing the last process video that I made with my October Clique Kit.  I got a Silhouette Cameo a couple of weeks ago, and I was down to scraps with my kit, but of course I had to go back and cut out the exclusive cut files.

This layout features Brielle playing outside in puddles after it rained one afternoon, and is the second layout I have of her doing this.  I love this photos so much, especially how the sun is making the water shine.  I had fun with triangles and mixed media for this layout.

I used the paint dabber, texture paste and triangles that I cut out of one of the sheets of paper.  The flair is an exclusive to the kit.

I was so happy to finally use that fabric tag, and the little cut apart card was perfect for my layout about playing after the rain!

I coloured the wood veeneers pink with the paint dabber.

Here is the process video.

Moby Wrap (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello!! Can you believe it's November already? Crazy that Christmas is just around the corner . . .
Well being the first Monday of November means we have a new sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy!  This month we are starting a combination of a sketch and mood board challenge on every first and third Monday of the month.  I think this is a fabulous way to use up old stash!

This week we have a sketch by our fabulous leader Brenshevia, and the mood board features Autumn colours, but with blue, grey and teal.  I dug deep into my stash, and rather than just sort through my scrap bag I decided to use Crate Paper's Close Knit collection.  This was one of those collections I "had to have", and then I barely made anything with it!  So good to rediscover it with this sketch, and a photo from April 2014 of our Autumn Festival.

A simple embellishment cluster with a doily underneath.  The heart is from the chipboard sheet, and the dark wood veneer is also from the collection.

I added this small cluster on the bottom right because I felt my layout needed a bit more.

The title of my layout is the name of the wrap that newborn Brielle is being carried in.  I loved having her so close.  The Thickers are also from the collection.

And here is the sketch.

And the gorgeous mood board.

And in other exiting news, starting this month Lets Get Sketchy is offering a free cut file each month designed by Brenshevia.  These files will be free for you to download and use.  We only ask that you give credit back to Brenshevia and link back to the LGS blog!  All files will come in JPG, SVG and Studio format.

Thanks so much for looking, come and link up your layout on the blog and play along!
