December Daily with Kaisercraft's North Pole (Artfull Crafts)

Good morning! Today I'm sharing two pages of my 2013 December Daily made with Kaisercraft's North Pole Collection.  When I first saw this collection I knew it would work perfectly with the supplies I'd already pulled for my album, which primarily included October Afternoon's Sleigh Ride (released last year).  North Pole has a gorgeous Christmas colour palette mixed with features of chalkboard.

Before I show you the two pages, here is the cover and first two pages, made with cardboard that I cut  a window into and painted gold.  The background paper and stickers are by Teresa Collins.  For my 2012 DD I had lots of literal white space with white cardstock as my base.  For my 2013 DD I wanted to embrace lots of pattern with simple embellishment.

The gold doily is from Studio Calico.

The back of my cover page includes stickers from October Afternoon, explaining the book and with the names of my family members and our age.

These next two pages are made with North Pole.  I've chosen to include Instagram photos, and I made my own hashtag for them, so that I'm able to remember exactly what the photos are about, allowing me to create this album months later.  I find creating a December Daily during the month of December too much pressure!

The first page is of my kids starting their advent calendars, and the first chocolate is always very exciting!  I fussy cut "Tis the Season" from a piece of patterned paper.  The banner is a sticker, and the scallop border is a die cut from the 6x6 paper pad.

The second page is of the pregnancy diabetes test I had to take, and shows the disgusting glucose drink I had to drink quickly.

Thanks for looking

Two More September Hip Kit Layouts

Hello, well today I have two more layouts that I made with my September Hip Kit.  Both of these layouts are about Sam, as I've realised that his albums are often neglected because I tend to favour girly products (especially patterned paper).  The September Hip Kit was perfect for boy and girl layouts, with more masculine papers.

Sam had a lot of input into these layouts, telling me to scrapbook both photos for him!  I love that at 7 he has an interest in his memories being recorded.

During the school holidays we had a big clean out and room shuffle.  In the process I found lots of photos, including this cute one of Sam when he was about 2.  He told me to call the page "Little Little Boy" and then I journaled about finding the photo this year, looking back.  He was soooo adorable!  I really wanted to feature both patterned papers, and that teal diamond pattern is my favourite of all in my kit.  I used gelatos for the first time, and used the gold one under my paper layers.

The second layout is an Instax photo that was taken in our local Cookie Time shop, which is basically a shop selling big biscuits.  Last year Sam had a photo in a race car, and was given the photo.  He asked me to scrap it, and also told me the journaling he wanted.  The quality of the photo isn't great as its really dark, and because its so small I scrapped it on an A4 piece of Stampin' Up cardstock.  I used the gelatos and stamps on this one.

Have a great day!

Hip Kit Club Online Crop

This weekend just past was an online crop over at the Hip Kit Club.  There were awesome chats and challenges with the Design Team, and I was able to play along with Ashley Horton's sketch.  When she was part of the Lets Get Sketchy DT we got to play with her sketches a lot, and it's awesome to play with this one!

My page is a very simple take on the sketch because I wanted to let the sweet photo of my girls shine!  Also, I loved that Echo Park navy stripe so much that I really wanted to feature it.   Its another photo from Brielle's monthly photo shoot (3 months) that Azaria had to join in with.  I'd call it photo bombing except that she asked if she could be in the photos too!  Now three months later (Brielle is 6 months) she still loves her baby sister this much!

I used washi tape to mask off the triangles, then spread them with gesso.  This meant that I could do my journalling and date on the triangles.

The gold of the Teresa Collins chipboard is so beautiful!

I love that beautiful triangle paper!

And here is the sketch.

Thanks for looking!  Being in the "future" here in New Zealand I only got the chance to play along with this challenge, but I'm so glad I got it done!

5 Today (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello hello!  It's the third week reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy, and hard to believe that its only 9 weeks until Christmas!

This week we had an awesome sketch by the very talented Bev Code.  I used my August Hip Kit, and got to use gelatos for the very first time - lots of fun!  I scrapped photos of Sam and Azaria I took on the morning of Azaria's 5th birthday (and yes Sam is pulling a funny face again!).  I used the pink gelato to highlight certain phrases on the background paper (much like the paper that comes in Maggie Holme's new collection Open Book).  The small pieces of ephemera are left over from my July Hip Kit and are from Crate Paper's Open Road collection.  This kit also has gorgeous Teresa Collins chipboard, and the metallic My Minds Eye hearts, arrows and stars are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!  They are heavy and add such awesome texture!

Here is the sketch.  There a lots of options with this one, you could follow it exactly, or use it as a starting point like I did.  I love what the other design team ladies did, so make sure you check out the blog.

Thanks for looking!

Tropical Punch Layouts (Artfull Crafts)

Hello again! Two days in a row that I've blogged, and I feel like its been ages since I've achieved that!  I'm up on the Artfull Crafts blog today sharing two layouts that I made with the new Kaisercraft Tropical Punch range.

The first layout was quick and easy because the special patterned paper background had done most of the work for me.  All I had to do was layers some papers, add die cuts, stickers, ribbon, India ink and my journaling and call it done!  The photo is of my eldest daughter and husband at her Frozen Party when she turned 5 in June.  Shaun was dressed up in his white suit and opened the door and welcomed all the princesses!

For the second layout I challenged myself to use this summery line for winter photos, and I love how it turned out!  Queenstown is considered a paradise, and so I thought the juxtaposition of hot and cold worked really well.  These are photos of our first and only big snow dump of 2014.

You can buy Tropical Punch from the online shop here.

Thanks for looking!  Be blessed x

Weighed & Measured

Hello!  When we went to Dunedin for our little holiday I took my August Hip Kit and some essential tools and supplies.  We went for 4 nights, and when it got to the last night I decided I'd better make a page to justify bringing all my stuff.  Because I got the paper add on kit I used the back of the Shimelle cut apart sheet for my background, and then used my two favourite papers from the kit in big blocks, with the three photos on top.

This layout is about Brielle's last  Plunket visit at home, and shows the main things that the nurse checks when she visits - weighing and measuring head circumference and height.  She was just over two months old in these photos and soooo cute!

I loved scrapping with the Shimelle collection!

I was happy to get that Shimelle chipboard banner onto a page!

Thanks for looking, I'll be back tomorrow!

Frozen Party (Scrapstuffz)

Hi, its my turn for my October reveal over at Scrapstuffz "Inspired By" blog.  This month we changed things up again with two inspiration photos, and an additional word prompt "Let it Go".  It was perfect for me as I had photos from Azaria's Frozen birthday party to scrapbook from June when she turned 5.

I used my August Hip Kit and scrapped the majority of the photos in pocket pages.  This worked well with the Shimelle cut aparts and Crate Paper Notes and Things cards.

Azaria had originally wanted a castle cake party, but after watching Frozen over and over and over . . . we decided to combine the two.  I made the cake complete with toffee ice shards.

These photos are opening presents, and the favourite party activity of decorating cupcakes.  It was a lovely party with such sweet girls!

Then I made a third page with a photo of Azaria and her friends with some of the last bits and pieces of the kit.

Here is the inspiration photo:

#Lovely Boy (Lets Get Sketchy)

Hello, it's Team A's turn for our first October reveal over at Lets Get Sketchy!  What I love about sketches is that I can always make them work for my style.  This week we had an awesome sketch by our wonderful boss Brenshevia.

I used my July Hip kit and made this sweet page about our darling 7 year old boy, who I feel is growing up so fast, especially now that he's a big brother to two little sisters.  I took this photo on our Winter bike ride, and I've loved scrapping these photos so much.  The journalling reads "You are the best big brother two little girls could have.  We love you so much! xxx".

I know I've said it before, but Kimberly really is amazing at putting together kits.  I wasn't too sure about the papers in this kit, but I ended up loving them and the combination of embellishments.  The October Afternoon snap caps and chipboard worked so well with this boy page!

I was very excited to use my new American Crafts DIY mini stapler for the first time on this layout!

And here is the sketch:

As always please play along as we love seeing your takes on the sketch!

By the way, I haven't disappeared from the scrapbooking and blogging world, its school holidays here right now, and last week we went to Dunedin for 5 days.  It was awesome to have some time together as a family.  We stayed at Portobello, which is a little seaside bay, and did lots of fun things like the museum, Chinese Gardens, and lots of parks.  I'll have more to share when I scrap the photos.

Thanks for looking :)
